Christian Melchers is a Professor of Geoengineering and Post-Mining at the Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences since 2012, with a focus on mine water monitoring, fluid/gas migration, and hydraulic barriers. Since 2022, he serves as Vice President and Scientific Director of the Post-Mining Research Centre. His career includes roles as a lecturer at the University of Münster and managing partner in a geotechnical consultancy.
