Christian Hofmann serves as Assistant Professor of Secure Space Communications at Bundeswehr University Munich, leading the Secure Space Communications Research Group within the Institute of Information Technology.
He earned his Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) degree in radio communications from the Munich University of the Bundeswehr in 2015, specializing in outdoor MIMO channel modeling. His academic career has centered at the university's Munich Center of Space Communications since 2017.
Hofmann's research focuses on secure satellite communications infrastructure, with expertise spanning narrowband waveforms, MIMO satellite systems, and channel characterization from VHF to EHF frequency bands. His experimental work derives from extensive field measurement campaigns and research projects.
He has authored over 40 scientific publications in wireless communications and holds 5 patents in satellite communication technologies.
As head of the Secure Space Communications Research Group, Hofmann directs experimental research initiatives focused on developing robust and protected space communication systems for critical applications.
