Christian Hammons is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Critical Media Practices at the University of Colorado Boulder. He holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology (2010) and an MFA in Film Production (USC School of Cinematic Arts). His roles include Associate Chair of Graduate Studies and Associate Director of the Center for Documentary and Ethnographic Media. His research focuses on marginalized communities, indigeneity, and ethnographic filmmaking.

Current projects include American Refuge, examining homelessness in the American West, and ongoing ethnographic work with Indigenous communities in Indonesia and North Dakota.
