Christian Edvardsen

Christian Edvardsen serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Music at Kristiania University College's School of Arts, Design and Media. He will assume the role of study program director for the Bachelor's degree program in Popular Music starting autumn 2025, while overseeing instrument courses in Popular Music, Songwriting, and Music Production. He teaches electric bass and ensemble playing across these programs.

His academic foundation includes Music Pedagogy training from the Norwegian Academy of Music. His professional profile bridges academia and active performance, with research interests centered on Music Education, Popular Music Studies, and contemporary production techniques.

Professor Edvardsen maintains a dual career as an educator and professional musician, performing with bands including 'Side Brok' and 'Sex Judas', and in major theatrical productions such as 'Book Of Mormon' at Folketeateret. His industry experience directly informs his pedagogical approach in performance and composition.

As mentor to Popular Music students, he provides hands-on guidance in instrumental technique, ensemble dynamics, and creative development. His teaching integrates current industry practices through collaborations with prominent Norwegian artists and theater productions.
