Prof. Dr. Christian Drumm is a Professor of Business Information Systems at the FH Aachen (Aachen University of Applied Sciences) within the Department of Economics. Since 2017, he has specialized in Business Administration, particularly Business Information Systems and SAP S/4HANA implementation. His academic journey includes a doctorate from the University of Karlsruhe completed in 2008 on the topic of “Improving Schema Mapping by Exploiting Domain Knowledge”.
Dr. Drumm’s research spans two primary domains: SAP/ERP systems and educational technology. His work in Business Information Systems focuses on practical SAP S/4HANA implementation, ERP education, business process management, and logistics optimization. Simultaneously, he has conducted significant research on eye-tracking technology in educational contexts, particularly examining how visual attention patterns differ between experts and novices in programming education.
His publication record reveals a clear trajectory from foundational research in schema matching and data migration (2014-2016) to practical SAP implementation guides (2019-2022), culminating in the 2024 official companion book for SAP S/4HANA. This evolution demonstrates his transition from theoretical computer science research to applied business information systems education.
