Christian Busse

Prof. Dr. Christian Busse is a Full Professor and Head of the Chair of Sustainability and Supply Chain Management at Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, Germany, since 2017. He holds a Habilitation from ETH Zurich (2016), a Ph.D. from WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management (2010, summa cum laude), and a Master's in Industrial Engineering and Management from TU Berlin (2002, highest distinction). His research focuses on sustainable supply chain management, supply chain risk, business model innovation, and design science. He has contributed to journals like Decision Sciences and Journal of Supply Chain Management.

His research interests emphasize bridging theoretical and practical aspects of sustainability in global supply chains. Prof. Busse teaches Operations and Supply Chain Management, Sustainability Management, and Innovation Management at Oldenburg and other institutions. He declined a professorship at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in 2019. Since 2024, he chairs the Förderverein Wirtschafts- und Rechtswissenschaften, aiming to build regional academic-industry networks.
