Christian Bjørn Bjerke

Christian Bjørn Bjerke is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Language, Literature and Culture, Østfold University College. He specializes in Norwegian language education, curriculum development, and teacher training. His work focuses on beginner’s training, orality, rhetoric, and the integration of drama in language instruction. He led key initiatives in revising the Norwegian curriculum (2013, 2017-2019) and defining core elements of the Norwegian subject. He holds a Master’s degree in Nordic Studies from the University of Oslo.

His research emphasizes exploratory conversations in language learning, curriculum reform, and the design of educational materials. He authored/co-authored numerous textbooks and guides, including the widely used Ordriket series. Recognized with the 2016 BELMA Award for teaching materials, he is also a former leader of the National Association for Norwegian Language Teaching (LNU) and FKS board member.

His publications span pedagogical strategies, curriculum analysis, and educational policy. He actively contributes to teacher education and professional development through workshops and lectures on digital ethics and educational innovation.
