Dr. Christian Berens is a working group leader at the Institute of Molecular Pathogenesis (IMP), part of the Friedrich Loeffler Institute in Jena, Germany. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis and host-pathogen interactions.
Research Interests
His work spans microbial genetics and bacterial virulence mechanisms, with an emphasis on understanding infectious diseases through genomic approaches. The Pathogenomics Group he leads investigates pathogen evolution and adaptation strategies.
