Christian Becker

Christian Becker (born 1971) serves as Technology/Postproduction Editor at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), where he manages edit suite bookings and technical post-production facilities. He previously held the position of acting professor for film editing at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences during the 2022/23 academic year.

Becker's research centers on the auditory and visual design possibilities of film editing, with particular focus on the surprising/unexpected and process-based nature of montage. His work spans feature films, documentaries, experimental formats, industrial films, music videos, and installations. He explores found footage techniques and experimental narrative structures, emphasizing editorial innovation as a creative force.
