Dr. Christian Aloe is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Health and Biomedical Sciences at RMIT University, located at the Bundoora West campus. His research focuses on respiratory diseases, immunology, and oncology, with a particular emphasis on inflammatory processes in lung pathologies such as asthma, COPD, silicosis, and cancer. He is actively involved in molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying disease progression, including neutrophil biology, tumor microenvironment dynamics, and biomarker development for precision medicine.
His research outputs span studies on CD131 antagonism in asthma-COPD overlap models, iron's role in silicosis pathogenesis, and heterogeneity in tumor mutational burden of NSCLC. He has also investigated neutrophilic inflammation in respiratory infections and the therapeutic potential of resolvin D1 in lung cancer. His work frequently employs mouse models, transcriptomic analysis, and advanced diagnostic techniques like endobronchial ultrasound.
Dr. Aloe is open to supervising Masters and PhD students, fostering collaborative research in respiratory and cancer biology. His interdisciplinary approach bridges basic science with clinical applications, contributing to understanding disease mechanisms and developing novel therapeutic strategies.
