Christer Hedlund is a Senior Lecturer at Mid Sweden University's Department of Communication, Quality Technology and Information Systems. He holds a PhD in Electronics from Uppsala University (1997) and completed post-doctoral research at the University of New York, Albany (1999). His career spans academia, industry leadership roles at Thin Film Electronics (2000-2005) and Solectron/Flextronics (2006-2009), and entrepreneurship as founder of a Lean consultancy (2009-present) and manufacturing company (2011-2012).
His research focuses on:
- Quality engineering and management systems
- Lean leadership and organizational change
- Sustainable business development
- Circular economy implementation
- Earlier specialization in solid-state electronics and microfabrication
His publications show a transition from technical microengineering (1990s-2001) to contemporary quality/leadership research. Recent work emphasizes sustainability frameworks, value stream mapping for circular economy, and leadership development through storytelling and AI methodologies.
Current projects include:
