Christelle Jullien is a Research Director (DR2) at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), affiliated with the UMR 8041 Center for Research on the Iranian World (CeRMI). She specializes in the history of Christian communities in the Sassanid Persian Empire (3rd-7th centuries), Syriac literature, and intercultural transmissions.
- Education: Accreditation to supervise research (University of Strasbourg, 2017), Doctorate in Religious Sciences (EPHE V, Paris, 2000), Diploma in Syriac Studies (ELCOA, Paris, 1998).
Research Interests: Focuses on Syriac acts of Persian martyrs, intercultural exchanges between East and West, and historical representations in pre-Islamic Iran. Her projects include critical editions of texts like the Book of Monastic Founders and studies on Persian martyrs such as Mar Giwargis Mihr-Mah-Gushnasp.
Scientific Leadership: Manages research axes in CNRS programs, co-leads databases like Source-e-book and Ctesiphon, and contributes to editorial boards and learned societies.
- Honors: Salomon Reinach Prize (2003) for her work on Christian missionary processes in the Iranian Empire.
