Christabel Floi Bucao is a doctoral researcher at the University of Lausanne, affiliated with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine and the Department of Ecology and Evolution. She is supervised by Prof. Marc Robinson-Rechavi and is a member of the Robinson-Rechavi Group.
- PhD Candidate, Quantitative Biology (University of Lausanne, 2020–Present)
- MSc Biophysics and Molecular Life Sciences (University of Bristol, 2017–2018)
- BSc Applied Physics and Materials Science & Engineering (Ateneo de Manila University, 2011–2016)
Research Focus: Christabel studies the interplay between gene expression variability and the evolution of gene function in ray-finned fishes, particularly examining functional specialization post-whole-genome duplication. Her work integrates evolutionary genomics and transcriptomics to address fundamental questions in molecular evolution.
Key Collaborations: Affiliated with the Robinson-Rechavi Group at the University of Lausanne, where she explores evolutionary mechanisms using quantitative biology frameworks.
