معرفی
Christa Testerink is a Full Professor in the Department of Plant Physiology at Wageningen University & Research. Her research focuses on plant stress biology, particularly mechanisms underlying salt and drought tolerance. She leads projects investigating root plasticity, abiotic stress responses, and microbiome interactions. Dr. Testerink has secured significant funding, including a NWO Vici grant for her work on stress-induced plant resilience. She supervises multiple PhD candidates and collaborates internationally on topics like Arabidopsis genetics and crop resilience.
Her research interests include salinity stress, root architecture, genetic regulation of stress responses, and plant-microbe interactions. Key projects involve studying how plants adapt their root systems to saline environments and identifying genetic loci influencing stress tolerance. Recent work highlights discoveries in salt-induced root suberization and the role of cell wall modifications in directional growth responses.
Dr. Testerink’s publications emphasize signaling pathways (e.g., ABA-mediated salt responses) and physiological adaptations. She actively engages in public discourse on genome-edited crops and their societal implications. Her lab’s findings contribute to improving crop resilience through molecular and genetic insights.
