Prof. Christa Ebnöther is a full professor of Archaeology of the Roman Provinces at the University of Bern since 2011, serving as Managing Director since 2019. She leads research in settlement history (especially the Alpine region), Roman crafts, religious practices, and societal transformations. Her affiliations include the Institute of Archaeological Sciences and collaborations with institutions like Augusta Raurica and the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum.
- Education: PhD (1994/95) from University of Bern; studies in prehistory, Egyptology, and religious history at University of Zurich (1981-1988).
