معرفی
Chrissi Laspidou is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Thessaly. Her research focuses on environmental engineering of water systems, sustainability, and resource depletion under climate change pressures, integrating hydroinformatics and Water-Energy-Food Nexus approaches. She is actively involved in European Commission-funded research projects and serves as Vice-President for Research and Technology at Water Europe, a leading water technology platform.
- Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Northwestern University (2003)
- M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin (1993)
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin (1992)
Her work bridges mathematical modeling of natural water systems with innovative technologies like biosensors and intelligent systems for urban, industrial, and rural water management. She has published over 60 articles in scientific journals and conferences.
Notable roles include membership in the Steering Committee of the Water-Energy-Food Nexus Knowledge Action Network under Future Earth. She teaches postgraduate courses on Meteorology-Hydrometeorology and Natural Disasters, with office hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
