Chris Waterworth

Dr. Chris Waterworth is a Lecturer in Global Audiology and Aural Rehabilitation at the University of Melbourne's Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, where he also serves as Technical Advisor at the Nossal Institute for Global Health. With over 20 years of clinical audiology experience, his research focuses on improving rehabilitation access in resource-limited settings through workforce development and health system integration.

His PhD research examines barriers to ear and hearing care (EHC) in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs), with field projects in Cambodia, Bangladesh, Tonga, Vietnam and Tanzania. Waterworth co-designs practical training resources and online audiology programs in collaboration with Rotary International and UCSF.

He holds leadership positions including Audiology Lead for the Global OHNS initiative and East Asia/Pacific representative for the World Hearing Forum. His research contributes to the ReLAB-HS consortium's work on rehab integration in LMIC health systems.
