Chris Wagoner is an Instructor of Music at Beloit College, serving as Co-Director of the Creative Strings Collective and Turtle Tunes. He teaches fiddle, mandolin, and ukulele, specializing in jazz improvisation and folk traditions. His roles include ensemble leadership and music education, with affiliations to the Hendricks Center for the Arts.
Education: Studied violin performance at Central College, Grinnell College, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on jazz theory under Richard Davis and Joan Wildman.
Research interests span multi-genre performance practices, string instrument pedagogy, and the intersection of traditional and contemporary music. His award-winning Hal Leonard Fiddle Method textbook underscores his contributions to music education.
