Chris Sutton

Dr. Chris Sutton is an Associate Professor at the University of Bradford, affiliated with the School of Chemistry & Biosciences and the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics. He holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Liverpool, with additional studies at the University of California, Berkeley. His career spans postdoctoral research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, industry roles at Celltech Limited and ThermoFinnigan, and leadership in MALDI MS technology at Kratos Analytical.

His research focuses on proteomics and mass spectrometry applications in cancer therapeutics. Key projects include identifying diagnostic biomarkers for breast cancer, studying drug resistance mechanisms in colorectal and breast cancers, and analyzing cancer cell phenotypes. He collaborates with academic institutions in the UK and internationally.

Prior to academia, Sutton contributed to protein purification at Celltech, pioneered MALDI MS applications in proteomics, and managed global teams in analytical technology development. His work has driven advancements in biotechnology and cancer research.
