Chris Reynolds is Professor of Contemporary European History and Memory Studies at Nottingham Trent University's School of Social Sciences, Department of Humanities. He joined NTU in 2007 after teaching French at the University of Bath, and has held roles including Impact Case Study Lead and co-founder of NTU's Oral History Network.
His research spans:
- Oral History methodologies and agonistic memory frameworks
- Northern Ireland's Troubles legacy and peace process initiatives
- Transnational dimensions of 1968 protests (France & Northern Ireland)
- Museum studies, particularly conflict representation and digital exhibitions
His publications focus on:
- Reconciling contested histories through museum curation
- Transnational protest memory across Europe
- Agonistic approaches to post-conflict reconciliation
- French political history and EU relations
He co-leads the COST Action 'Slow Memory' (€675k) and a £40k UKSPF-funded project restoring WWII air-raid shelters for educational use. Reynolds supervises PhDs on Oral History, Memory Studies, and Northern Ireland.
