Chris Palmer is Professor of Cell Membrane Signalling and Cancer at London Metropolitan University's School of Human Sciences. He leads the MSc in Cancer Immunotherapy and is a member of the Cellular Molecular and Immunology Research Centre.
His research investigates ion channel/receptor involvement in cancer progression (breast, colon, prostate, ovarian), with additional interests in anti-cancer phytochemicals and dance nutrition. Current translational projects focus on developing antibody/peptide inhibitors targeting sodium channels in metastatic cancers.
Research has been funded by Wellcome Trust, BBSRC, and Emerald Fund. He teaches Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Molecular Oncology modules, while maintaining professional involvement with the Spanish Dance Society as treasurer.
