معرفی
Chris Meisinger is a Professor at the University of Freiburg, Germany, leading the Meisinger Lab focused on mitochondrial signaling, protein biogenesis, and metabolic control. He holds positions in the Institute of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and the Centre of Biological Signalling Studies. He transitioned from Associate Professor (2009–2015) to full Professor (2015–present), with a visiting professorship at the University of Bern (2010–2012).
Education: PhD in Chemistry and Medicine from the University of Freiburg (1993–1997). Postdoctoral training included studies in biochemistry and cell biology at Freiburg and a brief period at the Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology.
Research Interests:
- Mitochondrial proteome assembly and signaling mechanisms
- Regulation of protein import under metabolic stress
- Role of kinases in mitochondrial function
- Impact of amyloid-β on mitochondrial dysfunction
Awards:
- 2022: DFG Senate Committee member
- 2019: Collaborative Research Centre leader
- 2012: Best Lecturer in Molecular Medicine
- 2005: Eugen-Graetz Research Award
Labs/Teams: The Meisinger Lab pioneers mitochondrial research, with a focus on proteotoxic stress responses and metabolic adaptation. Collaborates widely on cellular protein machineries through the DFG-funded CRC initiative.
