Chris Callaghan

Chris Callaghan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), part of the Faculty of Business and Law. He holds a dual PhD in Management (University of Witwatersrand) and Economics (University of Johannesburg), alongside multiple advanced qualifications in education. His research focuses on innovation, sustainability, and strategic management, with active involvement in the Blueprint Project’s Circular Economy initiatives. He teaches research methods and leads the Research Design and Implementation module on ARU’s DBA programme. His work spans 50+ peer-reviewed publications in journals like European Management Review, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and International Business Review. Key themes include productivity slowdowns, innovation economics, and the implications of the Anthropocene era. He frequently presents at international conferences such as the British Academy of Management and the International Conference on Sustainable Design and Manufacturing.
