Chris Bail is a Professor of Sociology, Computer Science, Political Science, and Public Policy at Duke University. He directs the Society-Centered AI Initiative and co-directs the Polarization Lab. His research focuses on how artificial intelligence influences human behavior, particularly on social media platforms. He has published in leading journals like Science and Nature, and authored the acclaimed book Breaking the Social Media Prism, which influenced Twitter's policy changes against misinformation.

- PhD in Sociology from Harvard University (2011)
Research interests include computational social science, media effects, and conflict mediation via generative AI. His work has been featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Harvard Business Review. He co-founded the Summer Institutes in Computational Social Science and serves on the NSF's Social Behavioral and Economic Sciences Directorate advisory committee.
