Chonghui Wang is a Researcher in Civil Engineering at the School of Infrastructure and Sustainable Engineering, Aston University. He holds a PhD from RWTH Aachen University (2017–2021) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Aston University (2023–2024). His research focuses on pavement materials, numerical simulation, and asphalt technology, with particular emphasis on bitumen behavior, material aging, and digital twin applications. He has contributed to over 30 publications and actively participates in editorial roles for journals like Materials, Coatings, and Polymers.
Key research interests include asphalt mixture performance prediction, fatigue testing, and the integration of AI-driven sensing technologies for pavement monitoring. His work frequently explores sustainable materials and advanced characterization techniques for civil engineering applications. He is a member of the Institute of Highway Engineers and serves on the editorial board of several journals.
Chonghui’s recent studies address challenges in bitumen-stone adhesion, molecular dynamics modeling of material aging, and real-time pavement monitoring using digital twin systems.
