Chong Zhang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management, Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM), Tilburg University. She holds a PhD in Management Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University (2020) and a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Beihang University (2014). Her research focuses on the intersection of Marketing-operations Interface, Platform Operations, Information Economics, Game Theory, and Dynamic Mechanism Design.
- PhD, Tsinghua University (2020)
- Bachelor’s Degree, Beihang University (2014)
Her work addresses critical managerial challenges in digital platforms under information asymmetry, including dynamic contract design to mitigate adverse events, signaling quality through return insurance, and behavioral modeling of commuters’ route choices using Cumulative Prospect Theory. She integrates theoretical models with empirical data analysis, particularly leveraging datasets from JD.com to validate her findings.
The analysis of her four research outputs reveals trends in platform economics, supply chain resilience, and behavioral decision-making. Her 2025 paper explores capital-constrained supply chains, while her 2023 and 2022 studies focus on incentive contracts and quality signaling in e-commerce. The 2018 work pioneers the application of Cumulative Prospect Theory to route-choice behavior influenced by social interactions.
