Cholani Weebadde is an Associate Professor and Plant Breeder for International Programs at Michigan State University's Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences, with her primary appointment in the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. She holds a Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from Michigan State University.

- Environmental Biosafety and Food Safety
- Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Transfer
- Sustainable Agriculture
Dr. Weebadde leads the strawberry breeding program at MSU and has developed Global Plant Breeding, a new online master's program launching in Spring 2025. She maintains extensive international collaborations in Sri Lanka, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, and Uganda.
