Chin-Chuan Fu

Chin-Chuan Fu is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Restorative Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry. He also serves as a Scientist at UAB's Global Center for Craniofacial, Oral and Dental Disorders (GC-CODED) and holds interim leadership roles in the Division of Prosthodontics and Comprehensive Care Clinic.

His research focuses on dental adhesives, restorative materials, and clinical performance evaluation of dental treatments, particularly for non-carious cervical lesions, amalgam replacements, and zirconia-reinforced crowns.

Recent publications highlight clinical trials comparing adhesive systems (total-etch vs. self-etch) and retention characteristics of dental attachments. His work emphasizes evidence-based dentistry and material innovation.

Teaching activities include advanced prosthodontics, comprehensive care clinics, and evidence-based dentistry courses. He mentors graduate students through thesis committee roles.
