Chiara Pellegrini is a Research Fellow at the Institute of English Studies, University of London, specializing in narrative theory and gender studies within contemporary cultural contexts. She earned her PhD in English from Newcastle University in 2022, establishing a research trajectory at the intersection of literary form and identity politics.
Her scholarly focus encompasses:
- Narrative Structures in First-Person Literature
- Queer Temporalities in Film and Television
- Gendered Body Representation in Intersex Narratives
- Spatial Metaphors in Trans Literary Production

Currently, Dr. Pellegrini investigates spatial metaphors in contemporary British trans literature while advancing her monograph Trans Narrators: First-Person Form and the Gendered Body in Contemporary Literature (Edinburgh University Press, forthcoming). Her editorial work includes co-editing the 2024 special issue Trans/forming Narrative Studies for the journal Narrative, reflecting her leadership in evolving narrative theory through queer and trans perspectives.
