Chi Ta

Chi Ta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Virginia Tech. She holds affiliations with the Center for Advanced Innovation in Agriculture and the Institute for Society, Culture, and Environment at Virginia Tech. Her expertise spans Energy, Environmental, Public, and Development Economics.

Research Interests: Policy evaluation and design for energy conservation, sustainability, and disadvantaged populations' welfare. Combines general equilibrium modeling, optimal control theories, and experimental methods. Current funded projects include contests for cost-effective energy conservation (King Climate Action Initiative), nonlinear pricing and energy conservation (International Growth Center), and analysis of energy audit mandates (Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries).
