Chevonnia Jones serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Health Professions at Augusta University's College of Allied Health Sciences, teaching core courses including Health Innovation & Technology, Internship in Health Services, and Issues and Challenges in Health.
Her academic credentials include:
- MPH in Community Health Liaison from Mercer University (2008)
- BSHS in Health Science (Health Behavior) from Georgia Southern University (2001)
Dr. Jones specializes in community health interventions with emphasis on rural populations, evidenced by her Faith In Rural Health Planning Committee participation. Her innovative approaches integrate gamification (Sententia Level 1 Certified) and technology in health education, while certifications in child passenger safety, diabetes education, and virtual dementia training demonstrate applied expertise in vulnerable population care. She actively addresses systemic health challenges through Augusta Partnership for Children initiatives.
As Faculty Advisor for the Health Services Society since 2022, she mentors students in case study development and poster presentations. University service includes chairing the SLP Search Committee, contributing to the Academic Roadmap Refinement Project, and representing faculty interests on the University Senate. Her community engagement spans Stevens Creek Elementary Science Fair mentorship and Virtual Dementia Tour workshops.
