Professor Cheryl Jones serves as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where she is a world-renowned paediatric infectious diseases physician, clinician-scientist, and health educator. With over $35 million in peer-reviewed funding secured and 170+ publications, her research has significantly influenced global health policy through leadership roles at major research institutions and government advisory bodies.
Her research focuses on critical areas of child health including childhood encephalitis mechanisms, vaccination efficacy and safety protocols, and prevention strategies for mother-to-child transmission of infections. These investigations have directly shaped international clinical guidelines and public health interventions, particularly in vulnerable pediatric populations.
Professor Jones' scientific contributions have been recognized through prestigious honors:
