Chenyu Li

Chenyu Li serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foundations and Secondary Education at the School of Education, Indiana University South Bend (IUSB), where he maintains an office in EA2255.

His academic credentials include:

• Ph.D. in Social Studies Education from Teachers College, Columbia University
• M.A. in Social Studies Education from Teachers College, Columbia University
• B.A. in Economics and International Global Studies from Brandeis University

Dr. Li's research centers on migrant education, civic education, transnational citizenship, and Asian American issues. These interests originate from his volunteer work at a rural school in Himachal Pradesh, India, and four years teaching bilingual social studies to migrant students in Flushing, New York, which directly informs his focus on migrant youths' experiences in history classrooms.

Prior to his current position, he taught preservice and in-service educators at Teachers College, Columbia University while supervising student teachers in New York City public high schools, demonstrating extensive practical experience in teacher development.
