Cheng Li is an Assistant Professor at Oregon State University, affiliated with the College of Agricultural Sciences and College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences. He holds joint appointments in the Department of Biological & Ecological Engineering and the Department of Food Science and Technology. His research focuses on microbial electrochemistry, cable bacteria, and sustainable environmental technologies.

Professional Contributions: He serves on editorial boards for Frontiers in Microbiology and Sustainability, and is active in organizations like the American Society for Microbiology and the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors.
