معرفی
Dr. Chen Situ is a Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast's School of Biological Sciences and Institute for Global Food Security, located in Room 0G.103. His research bridges traditional medicine and modern biotechnology, focusing on antimicrobial resistance solutions through plant-based alternatives. Situ has developed diagnostic platforms using immunochemical methods and nanotechnology, resulting in commercial kits for detecting contaminants.
Research Focus:
- Antimicrobial resistance mitigation via phytochemical development
- Immunodiagnostic tools for food safety biomarkers
- Nutritional enhancement of plant-based diets
- Molecular mechanisms of herbal therapeutics
Publication analysis reveals consistent focus on plant-derived antimicrobials (particularly against MRSA), alkaloid biosynthesis in medicinal plants, and nutritional biomarkers. Recent work demonstrates increased attention to genomic approaches in phytochemical research.
Honors & Awards:
Received multiple distinctions including Marie Curie Seal of Excellence (2018), guest professorships, and international travel grants. Leads active research projects on antimicrobial detection and food safety diagnostics.
Academic Service:
Currently accepting PhD students in antimicrobial alternatives and food safety diagnostics. Regular invited speaker at international conferences on traditional medicine and serves as thesis examiner.
