Chelsea Liu

Chelsea Liu is an Assistant Professor at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, based in Brownsville. Her research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), social determinants of health, and chronic diseases in vulnerable populations, particularly examining environmental and social factors influencing cognitive decline in socioeconomically deprived areas and border communities like the Rio Grande Valley.

Dr. Liu aims to identify strategies for healthy aging among high-risk populations, with a current emphasis on cognitive decline risk factors in border regions. She is affiliated with the Center for Health Equity.
