Chekredzhi Nikola is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering (1992) and has held academic roles since 1971, including Assistant Professor (1971), Lecturer (1981), Senior Lecturer (1984), and Associate Professor (1992) before becoming Full Professor in 1997. He has led key academic units:
- Head of the Laboratory for Electrothermia, Electric Welding, and Electric Traffic (1995–2003)
- Head of Postgraduate Studies in Electrothermia, Electric Welding, and Electric Traffic (since 1997)
- Head of the Institute for Electrothermia, Electric Welding, and Electric Traffic (since 2003)
His research focuses on Electric Traction, Electrothermia, and Advanced Welding Techniques. He has authored textbooks like Electric Welding (1981), Electric Traction (1997), and Electrothermia (2003). His work includes pioneering studies on energy efficiency in rail systems, inductive heating models for welded tubes, and thermal dynamics in solid-phase contacts.
His articles address cutting-edge topics like reducing energy costs in electrified rail networks and improving welding processes via numerical analysis and harmonic studies. He remains active in academic leadership and continues to contribute to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of electrical engineering, materials science, and transportation systems.
