Chee Kiong Chng

Chee Kiong Chng is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the National University of Singapore (NUS), serving as Vice-Dean in the Business School since 2012. He holds a PhD from the University of Queensland (2000) and a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) from NUS (1986). His research focuses on financial accounting, corporate governance, and executive compensation dynamics. He has received multiple teaching excellence awards, including the NUS Faculty Outstanding Educator Award (2008, 2003) and University Annual Teaching Excellence Awards (2007, 2005, 2004).

His research explores board independence's impact on CEO pay structures and corporate transparency, with notable works analyzing unusual transaction disclosures and executive decision-making in mergers. Teaching focuses on advanced corporate accounting and reporting, recently instructing ACC3704 in 2023/2024. Prior roles include non-academic positions such as Sr Staff Accountant at Arthur Andersen (1986–1988) and lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (1988–1990).
