Chee Kiat Low is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School. He holds a BBA (First Class Honours) from NUS (1991) and a PhD in Financial Economics from Yale University (2000). His career includes roles as a Senior Tutor (1992-2000), Assistant Professor (2000–2009), and advisor to Saudi Arabia’s Capital Market Authority (2009–2011). He currently teaches Investment Analysis and supervises Field Service Projects.
Research focuses on asset pricing, risk management, and market efficiency. His work explores skewness-aware allocation frameworks, CAPM validity under proxy uncertainty, and volatility dynamics in options markets. Notable contributions include theoretical advancements in portfolio optimization and empirical critiques of market proxy selection in asset pricing models.
Publications emphasize practical applications of financial theory, with key outputs in Mathematical Finance and Journal of Business. He has advised institutions like Singapore Exchange and Fidelity Investments, demonstrating industry-academia collaboration.
