Dr. Charmaine Brown is a Senior Lecturer in LLTE at the University of Greenwich's School of Education. She joined in 2002 and specializes in ESOL/Literacy education, teaching across PGCE, PCE, and ProfGCE programs. She holds an EdD, QTLS, MSc, CeLTT, Cert.Ed., and BA Hons.
Her research focuses on teacher education, literacy development, and community impacts of gentrification. She has presented internationally on gentrification and Black urban history, contributing to academic and community publications.
Brown received the Institute for Learning Fellowship (2011) and serves as a QTLS reviewer. As a Judicial Office Holder since 2002, she adjudicates in Employment Tribunals (England/Wales) and Social Security Tribunals (UK-wide), requiring ongoing legal training.
