Dr Charlotte Underwood serves as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow within the School of Medicine and Population Health at the University of Sheffield, actively contributing to the Centre for Urgent and Emergency Care Research (CURE). Her work focuses on advancing evidence-based practices in urgent and emergency healthcare delivery through rigorous clinical research.
Her research specializes in emergency medicine and urgent care systems, with particular emphasis on population health impacts in acute settings. Dr Underwood investigates critical challenges in emergency healthcare infrastructure, patient flow optimization, and outcomes improvement for time-sensitive medical conditions, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches to transform emergency care services.
