Dr. Charlotte Newey is an Associate Professor in Philosophy at the University of Reading, serving as Director of Teaching and Learning. She specializes in Moral and Political Philosophy, with a focus on Fairness, Distributive Justice, and Global Poverty. Her research explores ethical challenges in healthcare and societal structures, informed by her doctoral work on fairness and moral demands. She has taught at Cardiff University and the University of Warwick, contributing to courses on Ethics and Moral Philosophy. Dr. Newey’s recent publications include analyses of epistemic deprivation and fairness in personal relationships, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to ethics and psychology. She has been nominated for teaching awards (2018/19, 2019/20) and engages in public outreach to promote early philosophical thinking in schools.
