معرفی
Dr Charlotte Lloyd is a Royal Society Research Fellow and Proleptic Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol's School of Geographical Sciences. Her research focuses on environmental pollution, organic geochemistry, and plastic degradation in terrestrial systems. She employs advanced analytical techniques and data interrogation to study chemical fate in soils, aquatic systems, and agricultural environments.
Dr Lloyd's expertise spans catchment hydrology, soil science, and analytical chemistry. She investigates the impacts of plastics (including bioplastics) and agricultural wastes, with a particular emphasis on additive leaching, microbial degradation, and nutrient cycling. Her work integrates field-based assessments, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and sensor technologies to monitor environmental changes.
Her publications highlight innovations in plastic degradation analysis, river water quality monitoring, and dissolved organic matter characterization. Notable contributions include studies on biodegradable mulch films' environmental impacts and the development of novel methods for quantifying microplastics. Dr Lloyd collaborates with institutions like the School of Chemistry and leads projects on agricultural plastics' paradoxical roles in food production and environmental harm.
Awarded a Royal Society Research Fellowship, she actively engages in policy-relevant research addressing sustainability challenges. Her lab focuses on bridging analytical chemistry and ecological processes to inform environmental management strategies.
