Charlie Keyzor is a Royal Society-funded Researcher in the Department of Life Sciences at Imperial College London's Faculty of Natural Sciences. His research focuses on epigenetic reprogramming in plant regeneration, particularly the role of histone modifications during cellular dedifferentiation. He employs advanced techniques including single-cell RNA sequencing, proteomics, epigenomics, confocal microscopy, and bioinformatics/machine learning for data analysis.
Education: PhD under Dr. Jie Song (epigenetic reprogramming in Arabidopsis). Previous research includes bio-electric phenomena studies with Dr. Giovanni Sena, mosquito gene drive research with Dr. Andrew Hammond, and synthetic biology tool development with Dr. John Heap.
Research interests span plant development, epigenetic mechanisms, and computational biology applications. Currently based at the Sir Alexander Fleming Building, South Kensington Campus.
