Charlie Davison

Charlie Davison is a Medical Anthropologist and Fellow in the School of Health and Human Sciences at the University of Essex, operating as an independent healthcare research and training consultant based in Colchester, Essex.

His research spans Medical Anthropology, Healthcare Policy, Cultural Diversity in Healthcare, Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Dementia Care, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Patient Experience, and Genetic Screening. He critically examines cultural transformations required for NHS modernization, focusing on patient choice implementation, culturally appropriate care frameworks, and community-driven healthcare decision-making processes across diverse populations.

Dr. Davison secured major research funding including the UK National Institute for Health Research-funded PEBL project (utilizing internet blogging to enhance public participation in healthcare decisions) and a Max Planck Institute collaboration developing culturally appropriate healthcare models for Europe's super-diverse communities. His international fieldwork spans Argentina, Nicaragua, and Spain, where he maintains a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Universidad de Jaén.
