Charlie Ball

Charlie Ball is the Head of Labour Market Intelligence at Jisc, a UK higher education service provider, where he leads graduate employment research and support. He holds a Visiting Fellow role at Manchester Metropolitan University and lectures at multiple UK institutions. His expertise spans graduate labour markets, regional economic dynamics, and skills analysis, with a focus on postgraduate employment and career development.

Ball’s background includes a PhD in Chemistry and prior roles as a postdoc and data specialist in the pharmaceutical industry. He actively contributes to national advisory bodies such as the Graduate Outcomes steering group, AGCAS, and the Institute of Student Employers. He is a Fellow of the National Institute of Careers Education and Counselling (NICEC).

His current research emphasizes taxonomies of occupations, industries, and skills, alongside regional labour market trends. Ball also serves on committees for the Social Mobility Commission, Office of National Statistics, and the National Council for University and Business.
