Charlie Athill

Charlie Athill is a Lecturer in Cultural and Historical Studies at the London College of Fashion (LCF). Their research focuses on intersections of gender, material culture, and visual studies, with particular attention to beauty, the body, and popular culture. They teach courses such as Fashion History, Culture & Context and Critical Issues in Fashion Research.

Research interests include gender fluidity, sensory engagement with material culture, and the sociocultural dimensions of beauty standards. Athill has presented at key conferences like 'Fashion 8' (Oxford, 2016), 'Extreme Masculinities' (Vienna, 2017), and 'Globalising Men’s Style' (LCF, 2020).
