Charles N. Horn, Professor of Biology at Newberry College, has taught diverse courses since 1986, including Botany, Ecology, and Environmental Science. He served as department chair (1994-2011) and currently directs the Summerland Honors Program while advising Omicron Delta Kappa and The Green Team Recycling Club.

His research focuses on botanical and ecological studies, with over a dozen publications on aquatic plants, South Carolina flora, rare plant documentation, and native azalea conservation. Awardees include the Governor’s Distinguished Professor Award (2010) and Elizabeth Ann Bartholomew Award (2011).
