معرفی
Charles M. Krousgrill is the Tebbe Family 150th Anniversary Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University's School of Mechanical Engineering in West Lafayette, Indiana. His academic journey includes a B.S. from Purdue University (1975), followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from California Institute of Technology (1976 and 1980 respectively).
His research focuses on dynamics, nonlinear vibration of continuous systems, and stability analysis, with applications in acoustics and noise control, particularly in brake systems. He has authored influential papers on topics like disc brake squeal, friction-induced vibrations, and nanoscale resonator dynamics.
Awarded over 20 accolades, including the Archie Higdon Distinguished Educator Award (2011) and multiple H.L. Solberg Best Teacher Awards (as recent as 2012), he is renowned for both research and teaching excellence. His work bridges mechanical engineering fundamentals with innovative educational technologies, as seen in his 2008 Proceedings of the IEEE paper on distance education.
He advises on automotive dynamics challenges and collaborates on nanomechanical systems. His office (ME 3061G) and contact details reflect his active role at Purdue's engineering core.
