Charles H. Mallery is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Miami's College of Arts and Sciences. He also serves as the Associate Dean for Graduate and Administrative Services, contributing to academic leadership and administrative oversight within the college.
His research focuses on comparative biochemistry and physiology, particularly in ion transport mechanisms in teleost fish gills and enzymatic activities during plant germination. Key areas include ATPase function, osmoregulation, and biochemical adaptations to environmental stressors.
Selected publications highlight his work on Opsanus beta gill physiology, salinity adaptation in Dormitator maculatus, and plant protein metabolism during early germination stages. These studies span marine biology, enzymology, and plant developmental processes.
